The New Little One’s Have Arrived

I think there are three in there, but Momma and Daddy were so stressed out by me and my big old camera they were hollering all sorts of warnings.

Nothing popping out of the two hummer nest YET!

  1. Cute! I caught a young bluejay yesterday in my garden. Not sure what was wrong with it. It squawked quite loudly and flew out of my hand and into the neighbor’s window, but it is gone now. It was so pretty.

  2. We love em too. Our nest emptied out last week when they flew off– now the cats can lay out without the mum and dad diving at them.
Just heard that 32,000 people evacuated in the Co.Springs area because of the fires. Two of our sons evacuated from Manitou Springs in the wee hours Sat. morning and are safe in Colorado Springs. My sister Ruth and her husband safe so far at home in Granby, Co. No fires there, but she says it is very very dry. We are praying for rain for your state and others.

  3. Linda, once again I am playing blog catch up. You have so much activity going on at that wonderful farm of your’s. I shall send you some rain, we have endured a week of it and it is time for the sun to shine. Hot weather is headed our way for the weekend, I need to get the gardens weeded before it hits. I do hope you get some relief from the heat and humidity. I’m glad to see Fuzzy and Boomer are staying cool, but a bear!!! Yikes, did he do any damage? Thinking of you, Julie.

  4. Hi
Well I can see why you initially didn’t want this ” hummer” bird nest attached to your home.
Seems that ” hummers” ( Strange name) must be like swallows. If they decide Point A is where the nest is going, then Point A it is! The problem is bird lice in such proximity to your living area.

Now where in proximity are these Colorado fires to your area? The fires are getting plenty of coverage over in Australia – TV and Press.
If ONLY – this constant rain here would whiz off to Colorado, that would be the end of your fire hazards/problems. However, I don’t think the good citizens of Colorado would want all the flu and conjunctivitis stuff associated with it that has been inflicted on us here in Brisbane. Just the rain, eh?
Now into day four of this damn rain. Actually the sun did appear for about 10 minutes today, it was darn near blinding, and that was all!
I also hope that the fires were not started by arsonists????
    Take care and be alert.
    Colin (HB)
