Fall is in the air!  Every day I see more yellow leaves turning up in the trees!

Yellow-Leaves

We had to run up to our lake on Grand Mesa

To-the-lake

while our company was here….stunningly we saw fresh snow on the ground.

The little chipmunks were very active – I think they now their time for storing is just about over.

Terry and I decided that we just can’t get away from  the place to haul the much more needed firewood so we ordered more in, now we have a mess to sort through, but at least we are NOT having to go “GET IT”.  It will work this time for us … we will see what next year brings.

Misty had a terrible reaction to a new drug so she is with me today.  Please keep your prayers, magic thoughts and crossed fingers in place for a little while longer — we are desperately in need of them.

Your friend,

Linda

  1. Snow!!!! I’m so excited!! The locust and walnut tree leaves are falling here and I think it’s been the coolest summer we’ve had in a very long time and the wettest. Our wood shed needs filling also and we have the wood down but haven’t brought it in yet to split and put in the shed. We make sure we don’t use pine or anything not seasoned. I hate the thought of a chimney fire. Eddie is supposed to clean our chimney’s today because it’s too wet to do anything else. We use wood as our primary heat in the living room and the kitchen.

  3. Oh My…. Medications can cause all kinds of side-effects. So sorry about Misty.. Hope she feels better soon. Prayers for her..

No signs of Fall here –other than the fact that schools have started…. I ‘wonder’ what kind of winter we will have after such a mild and rainy summer…. Hmmmmmmmm…

You saw snow????? What is the elevation up there?

    Hugs,

  4. Snow is interesting but at your elevation not surprising. Sometimes it’s okay to swallow your pride and let somebody else do something for you like deliver the wood. I hope things work out for your daughter. Medications can be a real pain.

  6. I’m sorry to hear about Misty’s setback. We’ll be keeping her (and you) in our prayers. It’s amazing that you saw some fresh snow in August. I think you were wise to order some firewood this year.
