Helpers April 23, 2014

Our oldest granddaughter and her best friend came over one afternoon…and bummed a ride with Grandpa

How lucky we are

Helpers

To be have the blessing of our grandchildren so close…just ten acres away.  It’s nothing for them to walk over…stay a while (a long while or a short while) and then when they are tired of being here…to walk back home.

In the reality of life…Terry and I could not ask for more.

Your friend,

Linda

  1. You are SO lucky, my grandchildren are either a 7 hour, one bus and two planes away. and my other is a 24 hour trip to the other side of the world as far as you can go without falling off the edge of the world. Very lucky. c

  2. Grandchildren are pretty special –and it’s GREAT to have them so close. Once I moved to Tennessee in 2000—I moved away from my Texas kids/grands… That wasn’t planned –other than the fact that I was looking for a ‘new’ life for ME (after spending so many years raising children)… Guess I was selfish—but HEY, that’s when I met George.. SO—God’s plan worked for me….

  3. You are right — that is what life is all about. We were able to watch our older 3 grandkids grow up (not quite that close, but close enough for frequent visits). I couldn’t do what we do now if we hadn’t had that time first.

  4. and remember Linda that they are lucky too. When they are adults they will talk about – and remember with love – how they used to just walk over those ten acres to see you both.

  5. It is wonderful to have them so close, isn’t it?! Mine are a 1/2 hour drive away and I get to see them about once a week….they come do my yard work for me 🙂 . And, yes, I do hope they have good memories of coming to the farm and driving the tractor…and now my new farm pick up! It won’t be long and my GSs will be leaving the nest, so I appreciate the time with them now.

    We are blessed!

  6. That is a blessing to have them so near. I often wish mine were close enough to come over and bake cookies, or do something together.
