For some reason, just around this time of the day, I can get internet. It doesn’t last long but I can at least get on and post a new blog…and visit some of you. Then it is gone for the rest of the day. Stress, stress, stress.
There was a fire somewhere around Rattle Snake Gulch the other night. I always wonder what starts something like that. Always sad to see a fire somewhere.
This is a very blurry photo of a sweet corn field ….it won’t be long now…soon you will see either Mountain Fresh Sweet Corn or Olathe Sweet Sweet corn in your Kroger/Safeway/Wal-Mart grocery stores. They are advertising for pickers now.
Terry got part of the alfalfa field cut, but he still has at least three more hours to go. They are forecasting rain and thunder here this afternoon so he won’t be cutting today. Maybe tomorrow. Please continue with your crossed fingers. We would like to cut, dried and baled by a week from now!!!
The days are hot here and the humidity high. Drives Terry to distraction, since he much prefers Fall, Winter, and Spring. But I’m loving it.
The sun parted the clouds yesterday afternoon highlighting Hay Stack Mountain. Hay Stack Mountain is at the beginning of the Roubidoux Canyon, which is all part of the Uncompahgre Plateau and just below our mesa. You can See the brush descending down toward the flat lands when then drops right off into the canyon in this photo also.
Must hurry off here now…I think my time is just about up! Hoping everything is going well with all of you!

I’m with Terry – love that spring fall and winter. The heat is for the birds. We have one more large field to cut and put up and we’ll be done for the first go around. Depends on how much rain we get between now and September whether we’ll have a second cutting or just let the cattle in on the hay fields. Your birds are beautiful and I love Haystack Mountain view!! Possible lightning started the fire??

Central Idaho is expecting rain and thunder too. Very cloudy and a bit cooler which I love. I am with Terry about the heat and humidity. Dry heat is the best to tolerate. Best for people and animals too. Prayers that the weather holds for another alfalfa cutting and the internet gets repaired.

That is weird that it comes on and off. Any time I’ve had a problem, it may have gone on for a few hours, but never days. Is this the only provider you can get?

Gorgeous sunset pictures. We’ve had awesome sunsets here too. There are 2 fires west of us that make them so pretty. I think lightning started them. Sad.

One of the reasons we retired to Colorado was the wonderful dry air. After the last few years of wildfire activity, I’m so happy to have higher humidity in July. Hope your internet woes are resolved soon.

Sorry you’re having internet problems. Hope things get better soon. Smokey skies are awful but at least beautiful sunsets result. We had an evening rain that ended with a huge double rainbow. I thought of you.

Hi Linda, I’m with Terry in preferring all seasons BUT Summer… I like early summer when things are blooming –but when it gets miserable in August, I’m ready for FALL… ha
So sorry about your internet… Hope you can get it fixed soon.

Glad you were lucky with the alfalfa Linda. Our grass is still down and will not be ready until tomorrow at the earliest. In spite of a good forecast at the weekend, they are now forecasting rain later today before another fine, hot day tomorrow. We are trying not to worry.
