Early, early Saturday morning we took a ride into the Escalante-Dominquez Wilderness just a few miles from our farm
We wanted to see the new bridge the county put in by The Escalante Cattle Company Ranch and then to find where the old bridge was moved.
Of course Terry didn’t want to take the ‘regular’ road π
Stopping on top of a huge knobby hill we took a walk here and there
Looking upon this land where the shadows seem to dance unfettered
Across timeless vistas
And there below…the Gunnison River moving ever toward the joining of the Colorado River at Grand Junction, Colorado.
Not far from us…just over there….
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
My dad was stationed in Grand Junction before he went to the China Burma India Theater in WW 2 as a medic…………..I would have been born there except mom went back to Chicago where her parents were. I long for the West in my Soul….and when I did my CS Bible work for 16 days in Albuquerque I feel in TOTAL LOVE…….and hope to move out there at some point. So in your beautiful map there and vistas would Albuquerque be North East…I love the timlessness of Albuquerque and your state as well..and also the 19 active pueblos of our founding Native American culture… Thank you for this glorious vista…is Boom there too? Was this this a Sunday ride..wow …I would never move from that glory. Smiles..thank you for giving your love for this whole place a poet’s shine..you are wonderful God Bless you all..merri

Albuquerque is south west from us…way down at the corner of the state of Colorado then on into New Mexico. It was so cold I didn’t think he would enjoy himself.

I don’t know if you found the bridge or not, but you certainly found some beautiful landscapes. Thanks for taking us along with you.

We found the two new ones, but not the old one…Terry is on the hunt to see where the old one went.

We rarely took the “regular” road when we were younger…You have so much to see, always a different view. I love the textures

It was fun but a tad on the scary side a time or two…no road in places…all washed out. π¦
