In the Quiet of the Early Morning —- Thursday, May 14, 2020

The wind, ah, the wind, days of hard blowing wind

Ever so necessary to melt all the snow on the Uncompahgre Plateau

And dry up all the mud

Still in the early morning air

The blooms stand straight and tall

Instead of whipped about and leaning.

The sun is bright overhead,

the air warm,

and in the early morning air

you can smell the grass

and earth and

the irrigation water soaking the land;

all the while birds are filling our ears with song.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

  1. Wow, your yard has come to life! Your flowers are just gorgeous! I think I can smell those lilacs all the way over here ~
