This time of year, {even though we are past the winter solstice} the sun seems to drop down behind the Uncompahgre Plateau quickly
Causing the night to rise up– onto the earth
And the frigid winter air to cool to a numbing upon the skin
Still, I like to walk a spell in the growing shadows, crowding upon the land
Feeling the air change…not just in temperature
But in the frosty particles of sky landing on my skin.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
And down here on the underside of the world, we’ve just had the *identical* sunset – so long as you don’t look to the left and see the gathering storm clouds, travelling in the vanguard of Tropical Cyclone Kimi, due to make landfall a couple hundred kilometres north of us…

It’ll be fine; it was downgraded to a Tropical Low this morning, and won’t be coming any further south.

You have such an unobstructed view there. I miss that being in Sleepy Hollow. The sun goes down behind very tall trees, very early. Maybe I’ll keep your view up to remind me how beautiful it is out there.
