Dropping Low the Sun Glow Lights the World —- Tuesday, January 19, 2021

This time of year, {even though we are past the winter solstice} the sun seems to drop down behind the Uncompahgre Plateau quickly

Causing the night to rise up– onto the earth

And the frigid winter air to cool to a numbing upon the skin

Still, I like to walk a spell in the growing shadows, crowding upon the land

Feeling the air change…not just in temperature

But in the frosty particles of sky landing on my skin.

  1. And down here on the underside of the world, we’ve just had the *identical* sunset – so long as you don’t look to the left and see the gathering storm clouds, travelling in the vanguard of Tropical Cyclone Kimi, due to make landfall a couple hundred kilometres north of us…
