To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.—Mary Oliver
Because it snowed; without wind
It’s time to finish the ‘soon to be new pasture’
We’ve been pushing and shoving and hauling all the old and dead trees into a giant pile for years and years.
At least 12, possibly 13 years.
We started at daybreak and got into bed at 2:30 a.m.
But we are done.
Ready to work up the ground and then plant.
Conditions were perfect with all the snow and the frozen ground.
Yay!
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Makes me warm looking at the burning wood.

IT was warm…hot. Scorching. I’m so glad we are finished.

I’m glad you are finished with that big job. I hope you can relax for a day or two.

It was a big job. It sure is nice to have it ready to begin the creation of the pasture.

To do the work and get it done satisfies the soul, just like the green sprouts gladden the heart.

And some of those big piles smolder a long time! Pretty fire! and safe too since you have snow!

They do. That is why we stayed up there so long. Then we covered everything with dirt. It was a long, long day.
