We were coming home, down the long lane to our house, when this little creature starting running across our path.
I haven’t seen one for a long-time.
A wee little muskrat.
How fun, to have this creature expand our world.

Now I have the Captain & Tennille in my head. Kinda reminds me of my pet rat Herman that I had in 7th grade. He was a trip.

My mom named him. He was a little thing when I brought him home. When he got bigger, my mom liked him less and less. She would keep his cage on top of the dryer. When she turned the dryer on, she would always neglect to move him. I’d go to his cage to change his water or feed him and he’d be in the front, left corner, on his back, holding onto the cage bars. His tummy and feet were hot from the dryer, poor thing. She wouldn’t let me keep him in my room
When my dad got home, he would watch TV, with Herman either on his head or in his shirt. Grossed my mom out. LOL!
After about six months, she made me take him back to my science teacher. ;(

Oh, yeah. While sitting on his head, my dad would feed him popcorn. One day, my dad took him outside and put him on the hood of my mom’s car. He poured some beer into a jar lid and put it down for Herman. Herman liked beer…and staggered a bit. 😄
