The Crush of Migration — Wednesday, October 12, 2022

Migrating is such a tiring bit of bird life.  This sweet little woodpecker is having a wee morning nap. (Click on the blue)

Later on in the day, I noticed this little bird, tail down, eyes closed.  At first, I thought it might be a hawk, but now I think it is just a tired bird resting.

You can click on the dashboard and see the amazing migration going on in your area.

Did you know that scientists have proven that birds can see

The Earth’s magnetic fields and this is how they migrate?!

Pretty neat, I do believe!

  1. I am having a great time this migration. Took a big bunch of photos of several hundred Canada Geese on a pond today and found a Greater White-fronted Goose. It will make the state rare bird alert. Love your photos!
