There is a huge fire 12 miles from us—see the smoke haze in the horizon?
It’s sunny, hot, and very windy—not a help for the firefighters
It is a fire on the Uncompahgre Plateau
It’s called the Little Mesa Fire. 60 firefighters plus helicopters to dump water; all trying to contain the fire.
It was started by lightning.

Yes, there have been fires up there. The Plateau and huge I would hate for the whole thing to catch on fire.

Fire especially reminds us all that we are still at the mercy of nature, no matter how advanced we become in so many ways. Fire has the power to breathe a primal fear into us! I hope you all stay safe from this Fire and the fire fighters are able to get it under control very quickly now….😬
