The wild apricot tree, the equines love, looked like this
Just barely sitting buds
Then in three days —-
It started to burst forth—-just in time for the 60 mph cold, bitter winds and freezing temperatures at night.
Sigh!

Your apricots tree is a predictor of the cold storms that blow through in the spring.
In all these years, I can only think of one or two years that beautiful tree bloomed and you were blessed with apricots ~
Same with my crocus & daffodils out front. They started blooming and we got freezing rain, snow and high winds…

I am always saddened by my beautiful tree flowers being hit by the bitter cold after they have bloomed.

Java Bean: “Ayyy, I have heard that we used to have a couple of apricot trees just outside the fence! Rumor has it they spoiled Mama and Dada for store-bought apricots forever! Sadly, they both died at about the same time, of old age, Dada thinks …”

Store-bought are hard and old and wrinkled. Maybe a couple of new trees in the future? Your area should be great for apricot trees

We don’t have any fruit trees, but we’ve lost all the blooming flowers we had in our yard.
