With the Warm Sun and Cool Rain the Desert Blooms were Wonderful

Most of the cactus had pink or yellow flowers, but this one was a great red.

Resting in the Sun

Terry walked down Fat Man’s and onto Devil’s Kitchen with everyone, while Tallin and I stayed on top.  Our time was so peaceful that Tallin fell asleep.

Terry came back early and took over ‘resting on the rock’ so I could take some photos.

The Next Day We Went to Fat Man’s Misery

Fat Man’s Misery is a classic adventure just on BLM land. Getting to the canyon and escaping back to your car requires some walking – but the Misery isn’t too technically difficult.   The canyon ends in the beautiful Devil’s Kitchen full of wild life and lovely canyon flowers.

With the Hot Weather We Went to Robidoux and Played in the River

Fuzzy LOVES the water!  He likes for us to throw rocks into the water, and him to catch them.  Sometimes he looks like he is a drowned duck! 🙂  But it is lots of fun, for he and I.

Shannon’s Rotweiller’s enjoyed playing in the Robidoux River with us.

The High Spring Runoff Down the Gunnison River has About 20 Acres of Wildlife Area Under Water

Gunnison River is spreading its girth from bank to bank. The river’s power is being driven by a fresh melt of snow, brought on by several days of above-average temperatures followed by a couple of days of rainfall.

Terry Got to Drive a Snow Plow

Our daughter Kimberly works for CDOT.  In putting together a snow plow rodeo Kimberly asked if her Dad could come drive one of the snow plows.  Terry really found the obstacle course a great challenge and fun.
