First Things First

The first thing we Terry does is disk all the corn stalks not eaten by the cows

discing

Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly, one of the disks had to collect a big wad of mud.  The only thing to do is to pry it out

Now on the bright side, it was just one disk!

  1. Thankfully it was only mud. Here we have a fair amount of rocks that ruin equipment.

    Happy Spring!!!!

We did not do any field work in WY. Just got ready for it. The weather was great while we were there. Tho we had to wait a day for the snow, ice, and frigid temps to work their way out of there.

  2. That brings back memories. I spent a lot of hours doing the spring disking as a kid. Yes, the mud was a problem, but when everything was working, it was kind of a fun job. Although I had to deal with seagull flyovers that threatened a bombing.

  3. That is a lot of work. My hubby grew up on a working farm in NH, and misses those days. I, however have always lived in the city, yet I think I was meant to be a good ol’ farm girl.

    Always enjoy your pictures:)
