Planting is done for the year.
These are Bill Zee pinto beans. By the end of the growing season they will be heading to someone’s cooking pot.
This is my corner of the field, where the garden usually sets– four rows from the top of the field to the bottom.
But NOT this year!
I’ve cut back when the wind beat what I planted to death. Now it’s all planted to sweet corn…well only 2 rows and only half-way down the field.
I graciously let Terry have the rest of the field for pinto beans. He graciously planted my sweet corn with his planter…we are both happy!
The tractor will weed for me and I only have to pick and can it.
Not a bad trade off!

Not a bad trade off indeed. Though I wouldn’t let him think it was forever otherwise you might not get it back later :-). I know that is what would happen at my house.

How often do those buckets with the seeds in them have to be refilled while Terry is planting? If you fill the buckets up does it plant the whole field without a refill? I’ve never seen a tractor with little buckets on them before so it’s kinda neat.

Hey, that sounds like a deal! I really like the weeding part of the arrangement. Bean in the pot sounds good too. I would like some Arizona weather too.

I love the tractor doing the weeding part!! With planting completed will you folks get some down time? I know there really is not such thing on a farm but it sounds good 🙂
