But it’s beautiful right now, and that is what really matters!
Not all of the snow has gone, but with this warm weather it should be out of here by the time the next storm hits.
Our next door farming neighbor is still trying to get his corn in. The moisture is running around 15%. Boy do we feel for him!
The sun has been just delightful…this falcon thinks so also. Bitter weather is hard on everything.
Babies are due any day now. I suppose they will wait until the storms hit.
Our cows still stay pretty close together, but not far from the visiting herd.
Until the next storm…
Life is Good!
Linda

Hope the “storm” isn’t too traumatic and that those mommas keep them babies inside till it is past! It is gorgeous here today – 63 degrees at lunch – I did a double take! Windy but that is why it is warm. As usual we will take what we get! BTW thanks for leading me to Sunday Stills, am having a blast with this week’s challenge already (not everyone spends their lunch time haunting graveyards!)

It seems that calves like human babies come at the most inopportune times. 🙂
We have storms moving in too after a short spring.

Hi Linda, thank you for visiting my blog. I’ve just been having a look through yours and it’s delightful.
I was fascinated to read about sundogs too! Love your photos as well.
I’m very interested in reading about your way of life out there.
Have a soft spot for cows and calves. Hope the babies are born in not so bad weather!
Cheers 😀

We’re at the point now where the sun is high enough in the sky that if it’s out there will be some melting going on. We’re about 320 for the year and that’s 319 too many.

The cows look a healthy bunch, whoops herd. Shame more storms are coming when things have started to brighten up. We too have had a few weeks with little rain but the daily storms have started again.

Hope your storm is not too long-lived! Usually, we get the storms that come by you, but I guess not this time. We’re to be in the upper 60’s to low 80’s for the next 7 days. Of course, that is IF the weatherman is right :).
Can’t wait to see pictures of the babies when they come. Take care.
Blessings!

Its to be around 50* today so our piles of snow will be disappearing faster than it has been.

I’ve seen some new calves, lambs, and baby goats around here this week. It’s been wet but warmish and second grass is coming on strong. The past 2 weeks were dry and sunny, by the start of the second week the ground was workable and all the tractors were busy all day. I think they were planting red beets, green beans, and even the first crop of sweet corn (we grow veggies for direct sale to the public at a produce stand). If it’s too cold for the next couple of weeks the seeds will sit and wait before they sprout. I am personally getting antsy for the first crop of asparagus to be picked. I can’t fathom last year’s corn crop still in the field this time of year. Ouch. Isn’t it wonderful, though, how we can grow food almost anywhere?
