The Wind Museum in Lubbock, Texas has several types of windmills.
They had just finished assembling and hooking to Excel Energy and the power grid a huge wind machine.
Although, we know those things are huge, standing in front of them really shows how huge they are. Terry is 6’2″ tall….he looks like a elf! 🙂

Thanks for showing the perspective as to how huge these things really are. I hope you and Terry have a great Thanksgiving.

You have to get right up next to those big windmills to really appreciate their size. We have a whole windmill farm on a windy ridge near here. Generating a lot of electricity and a lot of complaints from those who want to develop real estate. It’s always something….

There is a company here that manufactures wind turbines and every now and then we see them on a semi…it takes one oversized trailer just for a single blade of the propeller. They are huge!!

Here in Maine we have several small windfarms. In upstate New York, hubby and I were just mesmerized as we came across a huge windfarm. When the blades were turning, it made me think of aliens swooping down, trying to carry us away LOL. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend. A winter storm is heading our way!

This must be a new museum….newer than 11 years, I am guessing, which was the last time I drove through Lubbock. I guess that isn’t so new, after all—boy, time gets away from you, doesn’t it!? I remember the Texas Tech U Pioneer Heritage Museum. We were always fascinated by the Barton house since my maiden name is Barton! Interesting post!
