In My Spare Time

In my spare time I go help our oldest daughter with her volunteer job.  We walk the dogs at the City Pound/CAWS.

We go Tuesday and Friday, it takes some time.  That’s okay.  We enjoy the dogs and they enjoy us.  We walk them to the dog park and then let them run and run and run!

So much fun!

If you would like a wonderful dog…these dogs are perfect.  They are all house broke, past the puppy stage and socialized.

Of course there are other dogs there than just these three  —  I just wanted to give you an idea of great dogs for a small price.

  1. Thats so great you do that! I think pound/rescue animals is the only way to go! All of our animals have always been rescues!

  2. Spare time?????? Goodness—-I’m thrilled to read that you even have any spare time!!!! ha ha ….. BUT–what a nice ministry to participate in. My son works in a large animal shelter —and he talks alot about the volunteers who help out with the animals… Such a NEEDED job! Thanks for helping…

  3. I do the same at our local animal shelter…great fun and good exercise for me and the dogs. It is always rewarding to see the dogs adopted and go to their forever home.

  4. I’m not brave enough to work at our shelter. I’d fret over their situations and whether they ever got adopted. So glad you and your daughter do it at your shelter!

  5. My daughters did that here when they were in High School. I almost wound up with a pair of (brother and sister) of German Shepherd/St. Bernard crossbreeds out of the deal… 😉
Such a good thing you’re doing!

  7. I’m sure the rewards for you and the dogs is great. Shelters can be such sad places. You and your daughter bring some happiness to the dogs. YEA for you!!

  8. I reckon that’s really a beaut thing you’re both doing. It will keep the dogs used to lots of kind people until they’re lucky enough to have a home of their own 🙂
