The End of the Irrigation Season

This morning at 6:45 Terry called the ditch rider and turned the water off.  We are done until next spring.

He is pulling beans as I write this.

Harvest is happening!

  1. I appreciate being able to travel the journey “with” you, from planting to harvest. I have learned a lot about the way that you farm and the things that you grow. I wish you a wonderful harvest and a winter with the snow that you need.

  2. Wow! This summer seemed to go on forever, at least in some ways. (Except the part about my boy starting first grade tomorrow!) Can’t believe its on the way out.

  3. A sigh of relief when watering is done, isn’t it? Now we’ll hope it doesn’t rain until beans are all harvested and then let it pour! Are you cooler? Was 100* here today..and yesterday, too.
    Blessings!

  4. That must be both a blessing and a sadness. No more going all over the farm at all times of the day and night to move the water BUT less excuse to visit all those places to see the changing of the land and the weather. Very best wishes for bountiful harvests.

  5. Now I don’t know how you get the pinto beans once they are pulled.
Now the tractor is fascinating. We had one of those but it wasn’t a row crop. We had a 70 and then a 730. Cool!
