Sunday with Grandparents

The grandson had soccer at Aspen again.  Both parents were able to go, and the youngest granddaughter went with them Because ‘There A Kids To Play WITH’.

But our oldest granddaughter wanted to stay with us.

So we baked cookies, gathered eggs, walked dogs and petted each and every kitten and cat a the shelter then after lunch we watched the Bronco game.

Because she loves to play on the monkey bars at school she wanted to show us what she could do…

Then it was time for supper and a bath, before her parents came home.

It’s a tad bit fun to have a day all to yourself with your Grandparents!

  1. What a fun day. Grandchildren are a great reward for all we went through as parents. now we can just have the fun.

  2. We live about 6 hours away from my parents. When the kids were little, I’d meet my Mom halfway and send one kid home with her. A week later, the other kid and I would go to their house, stay a couple of days, then I’d take the first kid home with me. A week later, meet my Mom halfway and retrieve my youngun. They enjoyed having one at a time for a week and not just on holidays where it’s so busy.

  3. Choosing grandparents over kids to play with at any age speaks well of the grandparents, I think.
But I agree. One on one vs. the whole bunch, even if the bunch is only 2 siblings, makes for getting to know the other generation really well. And the more distance between houses, the harder that is to come by.

  4. Grandkids are great companions. What fun to have time together. I love how kids can keep their crocs and flip-flops on even when they run or play on the playground.

  5. How wonderful to spend one on one time with your lovely grandaughter. Who dosen’t love the monkey bars, more children, in my humble opinion, need outdoor play…Love the pink crocs, is that a pink streak in your grandaughter’s hair? Love it!!!! Greetings from Maine, Julie.

  7. Were those taken at Garnet Mesa Elementary by any chance? The backgrounds look familiar. I enjoy your daily posts and admire your discipline in always getting them done. I suppose that comes with farming — or maybe farming requires it. ANyway, thanks Linda.
