Yesterday we had a huge mine accident in Ouray, Colorado.
Once more my heart goes out to all the friends and family and loved ones!
Accidents are always hard at anytime –during the holidays they always seem worse!
With heartfelt sadness,
Your friend,
Linda
Prayers on the way to Ouray!!

One of my best friends is a miner (and a soulful singer and guitar player). This earth is physically huge and we are so small. Machinery, hard rocks, darkness and fatigue conspire to make an assault on the riches of the earth very dangerous. My heart also goes out to the dead, the injured and their families.

I heard about this mine accident, but I didn’t realize that it was relatively close to you. Any accident like this is doubly tragic during the Holidays.

That is so sad. It is dangerous work. I try to check the news a couple times a day, but sometimes I just can’t!

I hadn’t heard, either. I grew up in W.Va., my dad, a coal miner. Nothing puts fear in one like an accident deep below the surface. My heart and prayers offered, too.
