I got this idea from reading Thoughts from the Road’s post on His Chasing Dragons!
A while back Terry and I saw this really cool Dragon. It was way up on a hillside.
Even further up was something strange and orange and like a flick of flame or something.
I have no idea what it was supposed to be…food, dragon flame? Who knows. I’ll let you decide. It was so far up it was really hard to tell…looked just like an orange dot. I had to take a photo of it to see what it was. After enhancing the photo I still don’t know.
The days are warm (hot) and lovely here. Although, we are experiencing lots of wind, I don’t mind. Terry did hook up the swamp cooler so the house could stay relatively free of blowing dirt. When the fine dust/dirt gets into the house I’m rather discouraged, as it means I have to dust…I am not a fan of dusting.
I would rather—vacuum, sweep, mop, clean closets and drawers, wash windows, paint the house inside and out, weed the yard, do anything in the yard, irrigate on the farm…you name it—than dust!
(But I do dust, I hope you understand…it is just right up there with eating boiled okra.)
Terry got the pinto beans in the ground yesterday! Yippee! We are three weeks behind on everything because of the cold wet weather we have had. It isn’t just us behind, everyone is behind.
The corn is up and rowing out, it should make it to ‘knee-high by the 4th of July’—always the goal. If it makes that tall by that time it will make before any killing freezes occur.
“Time marches on” As my Momma would say…here it is the 1st day of June. Happy June 1st everyone!

the red thing is a mystery, although for a second, i thought it might be a rooster! 🙂 i do like the dragon. it would look cool around my pond. 🙂

Whatever that orange thing is, it has no comparison to the beauty of the skies. Ironing is my hate so I just do not fo it…nothing ever gets ironed.
you could buy a hard held vac put it back to front and blow the dust away….. lots of love…

I wouldn’t expect to see Chinese dragons in Colorado. I have to admit that I haven’t the slightest idea about the red thing you found. I’m glad to hear that the crops are in, and I hope the wind settles down soon.

My mom has an alligator like that by her pond! Way cool! The orange looks like plastic. We get a lot of balloons hung up on the fence, in the rocks here. A few with notes attached too!
I love the windows open here, but the dust! My rule, don’t move anything! Ha! 🙂

When I was “home on vacation” from China or just in area, my favorite stop was the Olathe Sweet Corn festival. Of course ripe cherries were a big hit too from my Paonia relatives home. Then in the fall for peaches, apples and what ever else was ready for eating.
AS to the Chinese Dragon and its flame breathing counterparts I was never able to see one during those 10 years we spent in China. But having traveled many times to Sechuwan Provience in China their VERY spicy hot foods gave you the fire effect that one soon not forgot..For Days!!

Oh…boiled okra…yuk! I had almost managed to totally forget about that. I don’t mind dusting…it is the bathroom I hate to clean. I am glad summer has arrived for you. Here, too. Cool dragon.

There is no hot & lovely in central Florida. It’s just hot. I can’t wait to see pictures of the corn on its growing stage. I’ve got radishes and watermelon planted and I’m ecstatic that its sprouting and growing. My sunflowers are getting taller. I have to say you were an inspiration in growing things. 🙂

I do know what you mean. It seems like dusting is just moving the dust from place to place which is not all that satisfying. Sometimes I’m tempted to open the doors and windows and use the leaf blower to blow it all out where it came from.

Initially I thought a carcass but then it was too orange looking for that.
I think Cheri is right. An orange balloon – maybe a weather one that
has come down from a storm or something???
Great to know that the planting is going ahead with no present hiccups.
Day 2 of winter here. Cloudless and sunny. Can stay like this until Spring
(fingers crossed) Sept 1st ! That might be expecting too much, eh?

The dragon is amazing … the only connection I can see is that red is a special color in China (so I have read) and the dragon looks Chinese so maybe the red is some kind of good luck symbol ..?

Weird! Kind of looks like an orange tarp or something blown into the tree. I had to laugh at the boiled okra comment…I have tried hard to like okra but it ain’t happening!!!

We can be friends—–you vacuum and I’ll dust. Vacuuming at my house seems so very senseless. The dog hair tumbleweeds seem to remake themselves the moment I finish vacuuming. It is a never ending task that drives me batty. I’ll dust any day.
