As the sun started peaking over the Gunnison Mountain range…Terry and I were
Taking a load in —- what a nice way to start the week.
It’s still a little too high, but they said bring it in and go get another one.
(Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just bring in all three fields? Work all this week and be done? — Oh, well, we are NOT complaining, just very grateful.)
Your friends in a sorta, kinda, maybe, corn harvest.
Linda
Well, finally, a start!

I’m happy to hear that you were able to get a couple of loads of corn in to the elevator this morning. Hopefully you can get all three fields done this week.

Boy, that WOULD be wonderful!

Yay! I’m glad the crows and deer left you some! I bet the elevator people are suffering, too, actually. So glad you got some in!

Actually not, they just ship in what they are short of from California!

Grrr. Well, the shipping must be costly at least? Sigh. Always the little guy (gal) who gets the short end!

So far today anyway. We will know this afternoon if we can keep on harvesting.

Good news! You have at last started the harvest. Now hope that the moisture level
is down to satisfactory levels so as you will be well rewarded for all the years hard work.
As one of our Prime Ministers here once said – not sure if in a philosophical aside
to a question – “Life Wasn’t Meant to be Easy”.
Well this PM was a farmer – wool and sheep so he probably was talking about the difficulties
related to the rural communities – World wide – whose very existence depends on the weather.
I noted yesterday Linda in your report that you have a “Murder of Crows” in the corn field.
I love that expression as that is exactly what I’d do to my ‘Friends of Beethoven’ here,
presently the squawking “group’ are “serenading the neighbourhood! One would think after
3 hours of this they would get laryngitis!
Cheers and hope this week all will be harvested.

Finally, something! I saw a picture of cows from your last guest post and I burst out, “Oh no! The corn!” before I realized they weren’t in your field. *L* I don’t know that they’d do well to ship from California this year with the horrible drought conditions we’ve had, and the fact that agriculture was the first to be cut off. Hopefully that works in your favor.

They ship so they are never short. They would have to with the corn not drying down…sigh!

Yay! Getting work done is always a plus. I hope it’s all in soon.

So glad to hear you actually got to get some of your corn out!! We’ll pray the weather holds, too. Loved your pictures yesterday, btw! I’m not on the computer very much lately, but hopefully that will change now that we are settling into some sort of routine here. Too many on the computers at the same time makes it tough to get on sometimes! But I’m catching up!
Blessings!

I think you’re going to be able to harvest it all and it’ll be done this week. Assuming the positive here ! Take extra caution Linda, during this time of pressure to be done. Machinery can’t think.

What does it cost or how much to the dock you if they have to dry it?

They don’t dock us, they just don’t accept it.
