Early Saturday morning, around 3-or 4, I don’t really remember now. We had a terrible hail storm
It came in swath straight from the south
Tearing through the farm yard and damaging the trees
We have little leaves stuck everywhere.
Although, we feel we were lucky because none of the plants set out under freeze covers were damaged, the covers stayed in place…and the corn is not up in the fields.
The sunrise looked like this! Stunning isn’t it?
Then the rain clouds came back in…only rain clouds. We are still changing water through all of this rain, mud and cold. Irrigation doesn’t stop once we start.
By sunset Saturday evening the clouds started parting. It was glorious!
Today is cold and only partly cloudy. Once more I’m very thankful the corn isn’t up yet and my covered tomatoes and other things are still doing fine.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
Linda

Happy Mother’s Day to you, Linda!

We usually get hail in the afternoon…to have it in early morning was a huge surprise!
Thank you, Elaine!

I’m happy to learn that you didn’t have any damage to your crops due to the hail. When I first saw the picture of your siding I thought you were showing holes caused by hail, so I’ glad it was only leaves stuck to the house. Your sky photos are beautiful.

Happy Mother’s Day, Linda! Your pictures are stunning and if you are like me you are hoping for some warm weather (not hot) and soft breezes. The wind is wreaking havoc here yesterday and today and there’s a definite chill in the air!

Thank you, Happy Mother’s Day back. It’s still cold here also…the heater is running. I’m so ready for warm weather!

Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen hail here or if we did, it was so small we called it sleet. That’s amazing.
Happy Mother’s Day, Linda!

Happy Mother’s Day Linda….glad to hear it didn’t do too much damage. The winds here this year have been brutal. I planted my garden but I think it’s scared to come up.

It’s too wet here, but last night we did see some little corn leaves poking up!

Wow! That must have been some hail. I think it is scariest when it is dark and you can’t see the hail well. As all have said, I’m glad crops weren’t in. That would have been devastating. Did you get any structural damage to your house or vehicles?

The crops are in, but not poking through the ground (thank heavens). Some of our neighbors had car windows broke out but we were lucky!

Stunning sun! So, if you are irrigating fields and it’s pouring rain, does everything get flooded or does it just work out?
