After that awful announcement of the Equifax Data Breach
I thought maybe I had better get my once a year credit reports.
Looking through them I saw in April 11, 15, 27, 29 2017 someone tried to open an account with Capital One!
Talk about scared!!!
I called LifeLock and reported this (I have LifeLock) and then called Capitol One
To make for a very long story, with lots of long, long minutes waiting on the phone line!
I’m happy to announce everything is okay today!
Now if there are those of you who wish to take Equifax up on their new offer…
The waits are terribly long, enough so your phone will actually click you off. And, you might not get through…I never did.

Just glad to hear everything’s OK. Funny how the cats keep playing and the flowers keep blooming…despite our societal ills. Thank God for that, right?

I also have LifeLock and so far there has been no unusual activity on our accounts. But it definitely is scary to think about what could happen.

Well! So glad everything was ok but how scary indeed! Luckily I haven’t been affected by this sort of thing…yet, but you never know what’s round the next corner. Set Boomer on watch!

I’ve been worried about it too but not sure quite what to do yet. I couldn’t afford Life Lock anymore and my son gave it up too when he lost his job so we are watching and waiting to see what’s next. Glad you were able to get a handle on your situation. That scares me more than so many other things.

You can put a block at all three of the credit agencies…it’s what is being recommended now.

I’m glad you got it resolved. I saw LifeLock’s name on the list of big breaches on the FTC website last week (an earlier breach, I just now got around to looking). The whole security thing is difficult. Who to trust even harder.
