The wind has been rather rough here of late. Days of high winds and cold weather.
Still the fragile fruit trees are blooming…bursting forth in masses of blooms in hopes of having fruit.
The wind is armed with cruel arrows of 20 m.p.h. to 40 m.p.h. bursts trying to shatter and scatter the blooms.
Now, today, it’s cold. Windy and cold.
The little birds sit in pairs trying to keep warm.
Still the work goes on. Early morning to late at night. The spring sunlight breathing cold with the wind, but stunning in the sky.

Life on a Colorado Farm 
I think it has been windier here all winter and spring more than usual!!! We had another frost this morning and afraid it got the late plum bloomers and certainly the few apple trees that are blooming. The wind is drying up everything including the woods where Eddie was turkey hunting. It’s very dangerous weather at the moment due to the chance of fires!

Same here. Very alarming. We are in a red flag warning and have been for some time. I hope everything comes out well…you need rain and soon!

We’ve had our share of cold winds as well, but we are hopeful that May will bring some warm Spring breezes up here on the Cumberland Plateau.

I think it’s official: this season no doubt a candidate for (suckiest, copulatingest) windy season yet! veritably relentless! (but: ssshhh ! rite now it’s calm … )

We had a cool wind for several days too, it felt almost like winter again. All that wind blowing over ice and snow…it is a bit warmer now…still near freezing this morning:)

I suppose with weather like that, the fruit trees NEED to delay bloom! Do quince trees happen to be popular in that region? They were popular here a long time ago, but only recently became popular again among people from Mexico, Central America and China. The Chinese cultivars are very different from what I remember. Mine is Portuguese, but happens to be one that is popular in Central America as well.

Oh that last shot is wonderful … Spring here seems to be an extension of winter. Sounds so unsettled with you too. Isn’t it awful when the wind whips up a storm and howls through the orchard .. it amazes me that we get fruit at all! Got to love nature ..
