Passing Over Head —- Thursday, December 2, 2021

Sunlight bouncing off the weeds

In silence

The hunt to find food

This is our hawk…he/she has the damaged tail feather.  It must be damaged at the root for it’s always this way over all the years.

I leave before I hear the dull thud…of contact

So, that, I only enjoy the beauty.

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

  1. How cool that you can identify the individual by that feather! We have a House Finch like that. She has been around a couple of years now. Had a chickadee with white snowflake markings on its face all last winter, but haven’t seen it since spring.
