  1. We recently moved to the mesa valley and are new to the gated pipe/ furrow irrigation. I am looking to plant a pasture to a clover grass mix in and furrow it but was wandering if you plant then furrow or furrow and then plant and furrow or roll again afterwards to press the seeds in. Thanks in advance.

    • Are you in Grand Junction? Here we work up the ground so it is soft, then roll the dirt to pack it. After which Terry plants the alfalfa and marks it out, then it’s time to start the water on it. I think it will matter what type of soil you have on how your need to plant. It is best to talk to your neighbors to get a true understanding of your soil and of your irrigation needs. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have excellent luck.
