We are still irrigating the corn…
(early photo showing the ripening of the corn)
it is slowly starting to dent. See the little lines in the kernels, that is the dent.
Once completely dented, the shucks will dry out. (Earlier photo of the shucks being dry)
So, until the corn is all dented and the shucks show dry, we keep the water flowing.
Soon, though, soon. We will be done with the irrigation of the corn for the year.

Very cool. I didn’t know you watched for dents in the corn

It looks as if the corn is coming along nicely. It won’t be too long now.

The first of October we will turn off the water. Then November or so we will harvest. 🙂

Seems like fall is coming fast, not so gradual :::sigh::: But it’s gonna be beautiful!

I hope it stays a while. I am not ready for that next season.

Good looking corn! The corn here on the home place was harvested this last Friday and Saturday. All done, thankfully, before this damp weather set in. Did not yield very well due to the heat and drouth this Summer. Just couldn’t get enough water to it. Still have cotton to harvest in October.
