Now That I’m 75 —Monday, January 15, 2023

I’ve been thinking about being 75—WHICH I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO BE!!!

And this is what I’ve come up with:

Being 75 is really rather neat. I’m still alive.  I am still very mobile.  I can still work and keep working hard and take a nap every afternoon to recharge! πŸ™‚

But more than anything, I no longer care about all those things I used to care about when I was younger.

In the best possible of ways!

Getting older is a great and wonderful joy!  You finally are at peace with yourself, your body, and (even) how to approach the world.

So, if I have one bit of advice from my very advanced age: EMBRACE your age, each and every step of the way!!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

  1. Dear Linda! I have been away from this site a few years now but keep seeing your posts. Soon I’m in for a new surgery so I think I will return here. Being 60, as I am now, has indeed been a good reminder of how fortunate I am.
So nice and comforting to read your advice. Embrace yourself, be ok with what age brings you.
Thank you so much for these words of experience!!

  2. Chaplin: “This sounds like good advice to us! Our Mama and Dada have a ways to go before they get to 75, but since our Dada came pretty close to not making it past 50, I’m sure he will appreciate the opportunity for more birthdays!”

  3. I totally agree with you, For those of us blessed with good health and mobility in our older years, aging is wonderful and a blessing. I am 82 and still very active and in good health. I think when we have purpose each day and keep active, our health remains good. Happy Happy Birthday. I am amazed at all you and your husband do. Enjoy your blog and read it each day.
