Life on a Colorado Farm 
Summer is beautiful as long as it is not very hot. Here in the part of the world where I live, it gets very hot during summers.

After growing up on a bitterly cold Northern Plains farm where I had my brains frozen out, I love summer, too. We track the solstices with 2 ponderosa pine trees out our living room window. One, where the sun rises on Dec. 21, and the other on June 21. We call it “Treehenge”. I can understand why the ancients celebrated the summer solstice.
