When I was a kid, my grandparents said you could hear the corn growing on a warm summer’s night. I always listened, but was never able to discern whether or not I could actually hear it.

True you can! It snaps and pops as it grows. I used to take my kids, and then the grandkids out into the middle of the field to let them listen. Very neat thing it is.
