Mom said I needed a haircut—- soooo
Off we went and got a new summer do.
Anyway, I’ve been telling a story. First, I tell myself in my mind. Then I go to Mom and tell her. THEN, together we write it.
So Here we go—My Very First Chapter
First off, I was born. Yep, just like you, and TLC and Mom and Dad.
I really don’t remember much. I do remember being licked all over by Momma. Then I remember eating. Yum. (I still love food SO much!)
I remember I had a brother and a sister.
I also remember being picked up by a hooman. Flipped over- pronounced girl, then put back down with my family.
I remember feeling safe with Momma and my brother and sister. The hooman was a tad scary. She (yes, it was a woman) would come to our spot, put down food for Momma. Momma would get up, go eat, and get a drink of water. She didn’t go far, we could still feel her, but only her legs. Then she would come back and lie down again.
Sometimes she would lick us all over, and sometimes just turn her back to us and sleep. When she did that, my brother would whine and cry until he finally fell asleep.
My eyes weren’t open for a LONG time. But I knew Momma, my brother, and my sister.
The hooman I didn’t really know. She would pick us up randomly and flip us this way and that, but nary a sound did she make. She didn’t even talk to Momma. Momma said she was a tad scary. I believed Momma.
Well, that was the beginning. The Very beginning.
Mom said it’s good to start at the beginning, so I did. I have to think about Chapter Two, so I’ll stop now.
Here is just before I went to get my hair cut. Boy, it was long.
Boo Berry Betty

This story has a bit of a scary feel to it right now, but I’m glad I know it has a happy ending.

Lulu: “Your Mama dog sounds like a good Mama dog, Boo Berry Betty! Everyone is pretty sure that I was a Mama dog once, too, and probably a good one. The other day Dada’s cousin brought over tiny kittens and I tried to mother them, too.”
Java Bean: “You are looking very spiffy for summer my friend!”

Mom and I snuggled. Dada and rest in the chair. TLC likes to lick me on the nose. I don’t know if I like that. Boo Berry

Teddy Bear T. Dog who looks a lot like you, Boo Berry, approves this story. He’s a mini-Aussie. I had a full-sized Aussie named Mindy who looked just like you, Boo Berry.

Your summer doo looks wonderful! And with the heat you get, you’ll enjoy it.
I am a tad sad about the woman in your very early life… Luckily, you landed in the best home ever! Luv ya Boo! Tell TLC & mom hello.

That woman still raises dogs. She isn’t far from her. I often wonder if Momma is there. But Mom says maybe not. I don’t want to stop and see. I don’t want to see that woman again. Boo Berry

That fur served you well all winter, B. You won’t need it for summer. Now, you’ll be nice and cool. Your story is off to a good start.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
