Off we went—had to get away before all the heavy work started again!
It’s a bit of a trip—Up to and around Blue Mesa Reservoir. The water is low, but we have seen it worse. (Click on the blue to learn more)
Then 58 more miles (if I remember right) to Lake City.
We ate at the Packer Saloon and Cannibal Grill.
The outdoor seating was nice!
Packed with people, more waiting to be seated.
Then home again. Home again.
We were exhausted. Plumb wore out, as my Dad would have said.
“Laugh, my friend, for laughter ignites a fire within the pit of your belly and awakens your being. — Stella McCartney

Charlee: “Our Dada says he remembers Alfred Packer from a philosophy class he took in college when they had to read a book called Cannibalism and the Common Law. Packer’s story was in the materials too!”

I’m happy you could get away for an outing, even if you did come back exhausted. That seems to be par for the course– we always seem to come back more tired than before we left.

I hear you on the long trips! 2 1/2 hours in the car yesterday was brutal, we are tired today. Interesting name for a grill!
