Meet Mr. Hobbs, —- Tuesday, December 30, 2025

Meet Mr. Hobbs!  Someone dumped him off around Christmas.

He is a much older cat than TLC.

It took me a spell to get him, but we have him now.

No, TLC does NOT like him!  Although they don’t fight.  TLC has his nose out of joint and is very mad at me.  I have to work to share my time between all three of them.

It was because of Boo Berry (Mr. Hobbes loves Dogs!) that I got Mr. Hobbes.  But once Mr. Hobbes came into the house, then the Green Jellybean came out in Boo Berry.

Any advice or help you can offer to make this work for all of us would be greatly appreciated.

Our granddaughter in Alaska says she is taking Mr. Hobbs back with her in May.   She adores him. (Maybe he will become an Alaska Air Force Cat!)

Until then, he is ours.

Advice please.

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

  1. He is beautiful Linda! So wonderful of you to take him into your home. No advice though. Daughter and husband had to combine their 2 cats who very slowly came to ‘tolerate’ each other but only at a distance. They also had to be fed separetely.

  2. Welcome Mr Hobbs! You’ve landed in the best home ever!

How old do you think Mr. Hobbs might be?

Just give it time. It’s good TLC isn’t “defending” territory. Just watch them. If you are going to be gone for a while, you might separate them. Once warm weather comes, you might want to keep TLC in, so TLC doesn’t wonder off…

    Enjoy them all! )))hugs(((

  3. Patience. We had a rescued cat one time that hated dogs. Given time and limited exposure he became one of the family. Different rooms…soon curiosity will develop and all will be well in your house:) Lots of treats for Boo Berry when she behaves:)

  4. Java Bean: “Hola, Mr. Hobbes! We saw you had signed a recent comment and were wondering when we would meet you!”
Oona: “Mr. Hobbes reminds Oona of her brother Odin, who is also an orange cat. He lives with Dada’s cousin.”
Chaplin: “When Oona joined our house, for the first few weeks she lived in the cat room and we only got to see each other when Mama would open the door and show her to us and then give us all treats.”
Lulu: “Well of course I got to see more of Oona than the cats or Bean did, because I am a Mama Dog and love babies. In fact I still think of Oona as my funny-looking puppy.”
Oona: “Oona is your funny-looking puppy.”
Chaplin: “We also got to sniff each other under the door. That long introduction helped us all accept each other.”
Charlee: “I’m still hoping Oona will leave.”
Chaplin: “That long introduction helped us mostly accept each other. But we don’t fight.”
Charlee: “No, but Oona does chase me sometimes.”
Oona: “Oona only does that because you run away.”
