I found a very cold Swallowtail Butterfly! It was lying in the shadows of two pieces of firewood, not moving, not even interested in moving.
So I gently picked it up. Brought it into the house and let it warm up a bit. When the wings spread out (and before it flew)
I took it outside and placed it in with my pansies.
It rested for a spell. Really warmed up. Then lifted up and was gone.
WHAT A HUGE TREAT for ME!!!

Arent they the most beautiful butterflies? This one looks like its wings took a beating. I’m glad it was able to fly away.

It left so I assume it flew. At least I hope a bird didn’t get it
