About Dayphoto

My name is Linda Brown. I live on a farm on the western slope of Colorado, in the high mountain desert. I’ve lived here all my life, hailing back four generations on my father’s side. Today I blog about our farm, the everyday activities that keep the farm going. I also write about my thoughts and dreams and goals. On Friday’s I always write about TLC Cai-Cai. Our sweet kitty who helps keep the farm safe. And Boo Berry Betty, a breeder dog learning to be a Farm Dog! The lovely thing about blogging it opens the world up for all of us to reach out and meet people from many different cultures and different ways of life. You can find me every day (but Saturday) at https://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/ Your Friend on a Western Colorado Farm, Linda Brown

They also Raise Solar Power

This solar power farm is by Sun Edison; hundreds of acres of solar panels facing every which way, but North.

Some of the Crops in the Alamosa/Monte Vista Area

They raise lots of potatoes, but we saw alfalfa fields, and grain fields.

We saw mostly pivot sprinkler systems, a few tube irrigated, and some flood irrigation, but most pivot.

The 8-bale Hay Stacker

We took a short trip to Alamosa/Monte Vista, Colorado in the hopes of buying an 8-bale hay stacker.  We didn’t get the stacker; it was in just too bad of shape.  So if any of you know of such an item, let us know.  We’ll take a trip to see you!

Monkey the Cat

Monkey really HATES to go outside when the wind is blowing; she is such a girly-girl.  The wind ruffles her hair and makes it such a mess!

Confluence Lake in Confluence Park

Confluence Lake is one of the really nice features to the City of Delta.  People can fish the lake, have picnics and watch fireworks on the fourth of July.

The Crops are All Looking Good-You Can See the Corn in the Next Post

The baby hay is growing taller

The beans are getting bigger

And it is almost time for second-cutting of hay!
