Now to Start the Winter’s Work — Wednesday, December 15, 2021

The memory of green is all we have now

Terry and I have been fixing the fence;

putting up the electric fence, strengthening the five-strand, making sure everything will be ready for when the cows come.

And fixing the road

The start of all the ‘little’ stuff.

Which catches up last seasons work, and gets the farm ready for March, when Spring work begins.

Little Round Holes in My Garden Path —- Tuesday, December 14, 2021

I have been noticing, for some time now, soft, little round holes in my herb garden.  Wondering what they were, I decided I had better start paying attention, not wanting some creature or bug taking hold of the soil.

So there I was, two days ago, raking some more leaves out of the carport, when I noticed

A tiny bird in one of the holes.  Taking great care to not move quickly, yet get a photo or two

I was able to see, just ‘who’ makes the holes with such intent!

For a few precious seconds, I got to be part of a wonderful little experience–a connection, so to speak.

I thanked the Universe for such a beautiful experience!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Life Force of Our Earth — Monday, December 13, 2021

Go quietly, please, step softly outside

And experience with me— the Life Force of our Earth.

Stand still, empty your mind, and just feel.

It is there everywhere, in every plant, every creature, in the wind, the water,

Everywhere.

Please.  I promise you, you won’t be sorry.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

COLD! Very Nasty and COLD — December 12, 2021

Not much snow, but Oh! My! Cold is the word.  Lots of wind and a nasty wind chill.

WINTER has Arrived!

(Terry and I are so grateful we got the corn out before this hit.  Sadly there are still farmers trying to harvest and can’t right now. The farmer on one side of us, and the one behind us, for sure.  We sure hope this passes so they can get back into their fields. :()

The Earth, the Sky, Our Very Air We Breathe — Thursday, December 9, 2021

Is full of energy

(You are looking at Cedaredge from our house)

The energy of the earth, the sky, the air is flowing through each and everything we see and or touch

We only have to be outside to become part of that energy.

And if you stand still, or dance around in awe, 🙂

You realize you are now one with this amazing energy.

You are one with the ripples and eddies as the energy moves around you

And through you

Swinging, swaying, moving — Dancing, dancing, dancing

Quivering through you and everything alive, including the soil, the rocks, and all the plants

A soothing song of comfort wrapping you in an endless timeless melody.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Shadows Act Like Curtains — Wednesday, December 8, 2021

Shadows make my heart happy

They take away chaos

They promise wonderment with enthusiasm

They highlight silence

And blend into the familiar so you are one within

They give you a sliver of peace

A lull, as it were

Allowing you to see, taste, and feel the quiet

Taking away the remaining shouts

echoing throughout the day

Shadows are gossamer

Like a curtain.

From my heart to your world,

Linda

I Love Early Morning —- Tuesday, December 7, 2021

I love watching the sun come up

The skylines seem to  shimmer

The earth is black, the weeds streaking the edges of the earth

While the fire of the rising sun colors everything in its path.

The air seems to drift with the glowing sky

Sounds carry further in the early morning air

The God(s) have given us marvelous tools to live this life we live.

The patches of shadow, are always lit from above

The darkness fading into light.

The magic of a new, new day!

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Before a Shadow Closes In — Monday, December 6, 2021

While the hawk is hunting in another part of the farm

The bunnies (and I)

Enjoy a sweet little interlude

In the silence of

The equipment area.

FINISHED!!! Harvest Wrapped Up for 2021 — Sunday, December 5, 2021

We finished!

Before the weather changed

Without anything breaking down

Without too (TOO) long of waits in the long line to unload at the Elevator

Finished!

Last load!

YAY!

Passing Over Head —- Thursday, December 2, 2021

Sunlight bouncing off the weeds

In silence

The hunt to find food

This is our hawk…he/she has the damaged tail feather.  It must be damaged at the root for it’s always this way over all the years.

I leave before I hear the dull thud…of contact

So, that, I only enjoy the beauty.
