MOM!! TLC HAS MY BED!!!!
TLC, why are you on Boo Berry’s bed!
BECAUSE Hobbs is on the sofa!!
Dad and I laughed OUT LOUD!
NOT FUNNY!!! Boo Berry replied.

I! DO! NOT! GET! IT! Mom says I have to be NICE!!! N!I!C!E!
Really!
“Yes, TLC, Really!” Mom picked me up and gave me kisses all over my face and on my nose. I gave Mom Kitty love eyes, then I SAAAASED at Mom!
NO! I! DO! NOT!
“Why not?” asked Boo Berry, “Mr. Hobbs is really nice.”
BE! CAUSE! I! WANT! TO! BE! THE! ONLY! CAT!!!
TLC
(This is a huge work in progress. TLC is continually mad. (We are making headway, but oh, is, it, slow), Mr. Hobbs is quiet, sweet, loves pets, and has picked Dad as his person. It should work out. But so far —- not so much.)
You can feel it during the night. Cool, cool mornings to wake up to.
There are (YAY) Fall Rain STORMS on the Uncompahgre and on the farm!
Yep— when you go out in the mornings, ya need a jacket! 🙂

As the sun starts rising,
Or setting
Beneath cloudy skies of storm clouds
The need to keep the crops on our place watered has been a constant
Since early spring.
We are starting into the home run now.
The corn is almost all dented. Once dented, we will water one more time. (to be sure all the kernals are nice and full)
After which, we stop all irrigation on the three corn fields.
After that, we will water the two alfalfa fields a couple of more times. We don’t want them going into the winter dry. If they are too dry, they will die over the winter.
Starting to wind down now.

Gosh! I made it clear to Chapter Seven! How cool is that? I didn’t really think I could make it that far, but I DID!!!
It’s horrid windy here—I don’t really like the wind. This wind has been “over the top,” Mom says. I think I agree with her.
TLC hates the wind. It messes up his fur something awful, so he comes inside and sleeps. Sometimes all day long. Then he wants to go outside at night.
I don’t know why he does that because Mom never lets him go outside at night. She tells him, No—you need to enjoy outside in the daytime. Outside in the night is too scary. There are coyotes, foxes, WOLVES, Bears, and TIGERS!!! Out there!
I really don’t know if all those things are out there, I just made it up. But Mom does say No, there are hungry creatures out there and she doesn’t want TLC or me to be lunch.
So Mom, Dad, TLC, and I don’t go outside at night. Well, let me refresh that thought—-TLC and I don’t go outside at night. Mom has a thing about the full moon, and there is always water checks and well—- You get it. Just TLC and I stay inside.
Mom says it’s MY TURN to tell you a story. TLC got to tell you all about the great big flood we had, so Mom says I get to tell you whatever I want to tell.
So I am going to tell you about My Life!! How it is—my life—right now!
It’s full of fun things! Things I like to do.
Things Mom and Dad do. Even though it’s cold and raining.
And Being a Farm DOG!!! (with really cool sunglasses 🙂 )
Chapter 1 begins Next week!
Boo Berry Betty Brown
The evening was just perfect last night. A slight breeze (enough for a jacket), the sun like gossamer on the earth; tangling upon Boo Berrys’ fur, new alfalfa leaves and in my hair.
Everything is so simple and beautiful! A magical moment that slides by too fast as good things seem to do.
Back home TLC greeted us—he (also) ready to go in from his perfect day. 🙂
Uitwaaien (v.) — To take a break to clear one’s head: To walk in the wind.

We were out walking—Boo Berry
TL and I.
When I turned onto the bridge and looked back at the one lagging behind
TLC. Just as the sun crested the cornfield and lit up our world.
Stunning. Really! Just stunning.
