It’s Stopped Being Fall —- Monday, November 14, 2022

“One golden day redeems a weary year.”–Celia Thaxter

Although, the light is still on the pink side

As the sun starts to set

And the calendar still says it is November

The air has said we have stopped having Autumn, and now moving closer and closer

To winter!

God Brought Us the Gift of COLD —- Sunday, November 13, 2022

A gift of a frozen world

With crunchy grass to walk upon

Even crunchy air

Call frozen fog

So very, very pretty

And then it warmed up enough to melt. 🙂

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Farm Work, November 11, 2022

This is me!  The new way of being ME!

FARM DOG!

No longer am I afraid out on the farm.

If Mom goes out on the farm

I go out on the farm

Once on the farm, Mom puts me on the ground and I sniff around all over the place. But I always, always, keep myself close to Mom!  ALWAYS!

If we don’t go on the four-wheeler,

Then we walk.

I LOVE WALKING!

Although I don’t want to walk the whole farm, it’s too big and

I would get tired

FARM! DOG!

That’s Me!

Boo Berry Betty BROWN!!!

Putting the Farm to Bed —- Thursday, November 10, 2022

Off Terry, Boo Berry, and I went to put the farm to bed. By that I mean, we picked up all the siphon tubes and blocked up all the pipes so skunks and ‘others’ can’t get in over the winter and make nice little nests.  Those little nests become a huge problem when we start water…

Always a big amount of work, four alfalfa fields, and the corn field.  Boo Berry loves running around on the ditch bank, sniffing at all the great smells.  She will even jump into the ditch, now that water is gone.

She was tired when we got in also. 🙂

A good feeling.  But, boy, was I ever tired when we got in.

Innocence — Wednesday, November 9, 2022

I can’t help but think

As I watch the moon turn from a New Moon

To another gift of a full Moon

That the glory of the world is blessed with the innocence of a full Moon.

Hawk —- Tuesday, November 8, 2022

Sometimes the farms’ hawk

Is easy to capture with the camera

Sometimes he/she moves in the blink of an eye

And I miss!

(this is an old photo, but I love it!  A rare photo for me)

Oh, well!  Maybe next time.

Our World is Changing — Monday, November 7, 2022

Storm Blowing in

Rolling along

Rolling, rolling

Dirt everywhere

Then a bit of a a frozen mix

The earth is littered with leaves.

A Wee Walk About (and I do mean a TINY walk about) Sunday, November 6, 2022

I like to see the birds, flying high in the air

The thrilling sensation

Of catching them in flight.

Wings stretched in tight

Beautiful!

( a flock of birds over the Back Forty)

Even a little bird shadow.

So lucky, lucky am I!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-FOX! Friday, November 4, 2022

Dad called to Mom —“Your cat is clear out in the alfalfa field.”

Mom went to look and exclaimed, “That isn’t TLC Cai-Cai!  That is a FOX!”

“What!?” Dad jumped up out of his chair and went to the door with Mom. “Yes, it is! A FOX!”

“I think I had better really keep an eye on the chickens.  Must be a ‘new to the farm’ fox and is looking for personal territory.” Mom replied.

Now while all this was going on, Boo Berry Betty and I could have TOLD Mom and Dad about the fox, because —well, after all—we already knew.

There are smells.

And footprints.

And sometimes poop is left for us to know that FOX is here.

Mom thought it would be kinda neat to put up a trail camera to see where the Fox might be hanging out.  She picked the garden spot, because, she said, I, yours truly, TLC Cai-Cai, have been acting rather jumpy whenever I am in the garden spot.

Yep! Like I said I could have told her, but she doesn’t really understand my language.

FOX! Fox in the yard!  Eventually, the fox will move on, but for now, everyone, except those rather dumb birds called chickens, is on high alert!

Jingle, Jangle, Chime — Thursday, November 3, 2022

I helped Terry do about an hour’s worth of wood—an hour was about my limit.

In the process of ‘going over’ to do the work

I noticed how beautiful the world is right now.

Just downright lovely!  So much so that it makes your eyes, heart, and soul feel like bells are ringing, and songs are singing; the world jangling with joy.
