And the lilacs are blooming!

Plus everywhere I get to pick up plastic shopping bags! Even in the lilac bushes! The wind has been amazing this year, bringing with it dust, dirt, mud rain, and other people’s trash.

As long as there is snow in the mountains surrounding us we will have wind, but once the visible snow is gone it stops. We have had more wind than normal, so possibly there is more snow in ‘them thar hills’ than normal?
Today it is around 81*, lovely. No wind, just sun and blue, blue skies. Ahhhh.
“Our” corn is not up yet – too wet to plant – but our lilacs are bloomed out. Isn’t it interesting the differences throughout the country.

I just love the sight of a newly plowed field. Here in Southern Maine fields are just beginning to be plowed. Love the Lilacs, mine are just starting to bud.

Hi Linda, Loved the photos-isn’t spring grand! I am amazed at how many lilac trees and bushes I have seen lately-when we have our own home I plan to get a few. My mom had two and they always remind me of her. I’m ready for the wind to stop also. Tomorrow is supposed to get to 85 degrees here-I’ll be in shorts even if it isn’t pretty.
Hugs, Noreen

Oh Linda… how exciting to see the corn up! And lilacs remind me of my mom! Her favorite flower.
I guess I was in responding to your email when you called. I had left my cell in the other room. SO sorry. I wrote to you because you said that you were swamped today. It’s okay… we will hook up again sometime.
Hope you are doing okay on this Monday evening.

It was warm down here too. The baby corn in such a welcome sight. At first I thought you said the wind brings other peoples ‘teeth’. I reread it and of course it said trash, but hey we have had some crazy winds… rattle your teeth kind of winds (o:

Lookin’ good, I hate it when trash blows into the yard.:-)

Sounds like I’m at about the same time frame as Julie (above)… my lilacs are just showing buds and my forsythia is almost in bloom. That said, everybody else’s forsythia is blooming, I have no idea why mine is so slow.
Keep shooting!! These pictures take me home, even though the ranch isn’t there any more. Thanks. 🙂

We used to have a lilac bush right next to our front porch but it got too big and we had to take it out. My dad had one in his back yard too. They are very pretty when they are in bloom, wish they stayed in bloom longer though.
