Our assignment this week to get and see if we could capture some birds which are arriving back for spring.
One of my goals is to be able to take really good bird photos. This has been a horribly busy week this week so I wasn’t able to stalk many birds, but I did get this lovely pair of ring-necked doves in the apricot tree—
A very chirping flock of (I don’t know what kind of birds)
And of course the resident hens!
Of which I thoroughly enjoy.
Linda

The middle ones are starlings I think. I have never seen a ring-necked dove so they would be lifers for me. Very cool!

Great pictures, Linda…Love your birdies… That surely is a big bunch of them in your 2nd picture… Love the Doves—but I know how much you care about your chickens… Thanks for sharing!

For me It is always a challenge to catch birds doing whatever activity I was attracted by. By the time I get my camera on and ready to shoot… they are doing something else! I enjoy our Eurasian doves (ring-necked) – I like their gentle sounds.

Good morning, Linda. I love the bird pictures. The ones that come here in a flock and make lots of noise are Cedar Waxwings. They are crested and I can’t see a crest in your picture. The book I used was a “birds of Oklahoma” so you may not have this kind. have a good Sunday

The girls look great. Red hens are my favorite!

Yep. Starlings. Some people dislike them, but I think they’re beautiful and wonderful, and they eat a ton of insects. Even so, I had Bob go out and put some duct tape over a hole in our outside wall because an enterprising starling was starting its nest there. Have you ever seen anything as beautiful and complicated as sunlight on a starling’s feathers?

Hopefully things will slow down somewhat so you can devote more time to bird stalking. But I think these shots are very good.

Shooting birds the fun way and no cleanup after. We have all three around here but I like the hens the best.
