“For lack of attention a thousand forms of loveliness elude us every day.”–Evelyn Underhill
We took a wee trip…a get up at two in the morning, come back way after dark, sorta wee trip.
You see there was this auction, where several items of interest were being sold…
And, of course, most of the things ‘dreamed about’ went way, way over our budget. But the next to last row, at the very end of the day (5:30) the (almost) last item in that row, was purchased for a decent price. Once loaded up we headed back home.
Driving in the magic of storms, the fading light, the enchantment of a good buy surrounding us all the way.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
…and you don’t even tell us what the much sought after item is??? Dying to know. The images are lovely. Glad you had a safe trip. The quote is excellent.

Oh, farm stuff—a ripper, some shanks, some suitcase weights,a tractor ..and the fuel tank. Which he got! 🙂 The other stuff went for way too much money for us.

I was so surprised at all the ‘stuff’ there. I spied a chicken house, but it was going to sell the next day and we couldn’t stay.

That was a work day, not a trip! But they say that if you enjoy your job, it isn’t really work — and you two surely do!! Wonderful that you were able to take time to pay attention to the beauty along the way!! What did you buy?
