I’m gradually moving myself forward into the the now and present world…
The computer is starting to respond in a way I can understand…..although, I’ve lost my photos someplace, somewhere on some drive—that has be a tad stressed out.
So to complicated matters and to keep my 69 year old brain growing
I decided to purchase and learn a smart phone.
From a flip-phone to smart phone…another huge learning curve!
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Yep, you gotta keep doing that! So go, Linda!! I’m 100% behind (and beside) you on this one.

The key to success with the phone will be to use it all the time. If you only use it once in a while, you will have a time remembering how it works and become frustrated like us. If you think back to say 1970, what you have in your hand is nothing short of magic that couldn’t even be imagined then.

You are so right! I hope I get caught up soon.

wow! You decided to join the 21st century just like I did! I used a nokia phone for 9 yrs. I finally decided to go smart phone even after all the years I bragged about how I wasn’t sucked in to the new technology. I have siblings that live in 3 different countries on two different continents and the Smartphone lets me text with them for free on Whatsapp. My brother created a group for us and so we can text the group and we all get the same text at once. It has been a huge blessing to us.
Now I brag that I joined the 21st century and I even beat 2020 by 4years!

Oh my word! You’re going to LOVE your phone. It can do so much for you, and yes, sure, you’ll have to learn to negotiate all it has to offer, but once you do, there’ll be no stopping you. I mean, phone, SMS, MMS, calendar, address book, email, camera, photo gallery, Skype, games, calculator, torch, voice recorder, barcode reader, music, talking books… OK, I’ll stop there. I’d only offer one final thought: Regular backups!

Regular backups to the cloud, I’m assuming.

If that’s your preference. I also keep a spare SIM with my contacts, etc, on it, which I update. If the phone gets damaged or lost, I still have everything.

Oh. That’s a thought. I didn’t know you could have a spare SIM

My phone will let you put in two, so I have one main one, and a second one for backup

Woot! Congratulations! Smart phones are easier than you’d think. Any time you get stuck or can’t figure out how to do something, you can type your question into a google search and read the directions or do a search on YouTube and watch somebody show you how to do it. Good luck!

I was really hesitant about upgrading to my new smart phone but once I discovered there is a wordpress app & I can now blog from anywhere & follow others blogs, I was pretty excited! It looks like you may even have a similar phone to me, so far I like it & it’s wonderful having a good quality easily portable camera- my last smart phone camera was terrible & there’s some situations where my big camera just doesn’t do the trick.

I haven’t used the WordPress app yet, but I am looking into the Instagram app.

Good for you Linda….taking on a smart phone. I tried it and didn’t like it so settled back in with my good ole flip phone. I’m not one to do a lot on phones. I just use my computer when I need to. Hope you’ll like your new phone greatly!!!

We are the same age in numbers. Love my smart phone as it’s smarter than I am. The GPS gets me around since I can’t read street signs and I love looking things up when someone asks a question. I keep notes and reminders in there so it reminds of things I’m likely to forget. No grocery list is ever lost now as the phone is always in my pocket. My daughter is not a talker but she will text me twice a day so I know she made it back and forth to work safe since she lives alone. You are a very smart woman and will master this in short order. I’m lucky to have techy kids to keep me up to date and the fact that we are willing means that the number of our years doesn’t define us. π You go girl!
