Winter’s overwhelming lack of smells are gone. Instead we have exciting fresh scents of varied EVERYTHING

Green things growing, water on parched soil, the smell of just fallen rain, mingled with whiffs of equines
Taking dust baths 🙂
(whatever Lady does TaAta thinks she must do also 🙂 )
The smell and feel of the air is crisp and soft and Fresh now— How lucky we are.
Later on in the slightly chilled evening,
Ta Ata came to Visit.
Spring…a time of joy on all the land,
From my heart to your world.
Linda

Normally, this would be the time of year that the Santa Clara Valley smells like apricot bloom!

Oh, that is totally sad. We have bad years here sometimes, but mostly excellent years for apricots. We do not mind a bad year every once in a while. I do not think I would like to be without apricots completely, like in the Northwest or New England. They are what I am familiar with, like people in New England like apple blossoms.

We seem to get Apricots about every seven years. Very hard on the fruit grower who try to grow them. But when they have a crop they make excellent money.

I they get fruit only every seventh year, they should not be growing apricots.

Oh, the wonder of smelling the land again in spring. It is something we rarely notice…that absence…in winter, but when the air is redolent with growth and greenery, we always remember with joy. Thank you for this lovely post.
