Quite Splendid and Terribly Rare for Us—–Sunday, April, 8, 2018

We got rain!ย  Lots and lots of lovely rain.

Even the birds were singing the trees, as the rain whispered through the small buds on the branches.

And I…I was that good wife, who let Terry go out at nine o’clock of the evening, in the roar of the storm to change the water ONE last time. He graciously told me to stay inside, that it wouldn’t take him long.

He came in a drowned rat…but ever so excited about the depth of moisture in the soil.

The wind blew the clouds away around five o’clock this morning…leaving us with that perfect mix of fresh air, fresh sky, blessed plants and earth from RAIN!

From my world to your heart,

  1. yeah: “it” started, slowly, at about sunset — and got more and more intense ’til a big thunderstorm (thunder, lightning, heavy WIND) came thru’ at about 3 or 4 a.m. — Betty slept thru’ it (!) while I (mostly) enjoyed it ~ biggest/most rain in a while for these parts ~

  2. How wonderful to hear that your part of the world got a good soaking! Hope you continue to get decent rains throughout your growing season. Thanks for your good news!

  3. Was that all the rain that did NOT fall here? It was in the news for days, and we even got flood warnings for Friday and Saturday, and then nothing happened. We got a bit of good rain, especially in the Santa Clara Valley, but it was not as voluminous as predicted. We were cheated!

  4. I love the smell of rain… we are enjoying it too after weeks of dry… even the last roses of summer are blooming again in the green misty damp…
so glad you have the same joys half a world away XXXXXXXXX
