Spring and Summer are such magical times. They are neither dark and dreary, or so brilliantly colored you forget to see the magic happening right in front of your eyes.
Spring and Summer are somehow a time set aside, a time when spirits roam from daylight until dark, and the old gods walk upon the land in that time of Twilight.
Where all those tiny little creatures perform that mystic ritual of building nests
Of this and that
In secret tiny spaces….waiting and sitting and waiting until the whole world is greeted with the joy of bright little babies.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
Beautiful thoughts (and photos) of the delights of this season.

Hummingbirds!! I’m just a little jealous! Such amazing, tiny creatures. Their nests and babies must be soooo small!

They say the eggs are the size of a small green pea. I am so excited to have her here.

Can you imagine what life would be like if we had to build our own houses each year to raise our children in? That’s one of the true miracles… Birds are amazing creatures.

You found a hummingbird’s nest!!! I have only ever seen one, quite by accident, when the mother buzzed me as I passed under the apple twig she had built in on…many, many years ago.

She picked the electric wire just above the tractors in the old shed. Really not a good place, but we are being very careful to protect her.

Beautiful, Linda! And your flower garden is just gorgeous ~ your hard work pays off yearly. The hummingbirds here are not as numerous as years gone by, but some remain and hopefully are building their tiny nests. Thanks for sharing your beautiful world ♡

You know, I’ve noticed that also. I don’t know why…is it too hot, have they moved to another spot? Did they not make it back from their long trip? Rather sad, really.
