In that Pulse of time
Called Evening
That Forever place where the air mists
And reaches into the sunrays
Or is it the other way round
The sunrays reach up and beyond the shadows
Tickling the clouds; washing them in the sunshine of color.
Sometimes sunsets only flick the clouds in pastels
the Air turning into lavenders and purples
Or a wind shifting drift of sherbert vapor.
Then, in a rare moment, those amazingly special sometimes, when the colors are like flames
Lighting up not only the air, and water, but also the earth and everything on it!
From my world to your heart,
Linda
Your sunsets are always breathtaking.

I have been reading your wonderful blog now for many years. It is one of the best. The scenery around your area is breathtakingly beautiful. My wife and I have lived in Minnesota our entire lives. We travel now and then throughout the West. We were wondering if Delta, or around Delta would be a good place for us to retire to. My Dad and I went through close to your area many years ago, and we stayed in Grand junction’s Western side. I fell in love with the area. I know this is not an easy question to answer, but I think we might like the area enough to move to. Is the crime rate a factor near Delta? We live in the suburbs of the Twin City Metro Area of MPLS and St. Paul. The Crime rate is going through the roof. Thanks, Linda, and we enjoy your blog and photos.

Hello, Spike! How nice to meet you. Our crime rate is small compared to large cities. Grand Junction is a growing metropolis, anymore, with lots of new development. The city of Montrose is also a growing and upward mobile community. Many people don’t like Delta because we are more rural and farm like…something I like. Past Grand Junction is Fruita and Loma and Mack and there is also Palisade…home prices in all our areas are rather over-the-top because of the growth. I hope this helps. I know of a couple of people who have moved here, one to Grand Junction and the other to Montrose because of my blog. They say they love being here.
Thank you so much for reading. And for commenting, it’s good to meet you.

Thank you so much Linda for getting back to me. I was thinking me might check out Delta, as it is more rural perhaps, and would fit in for this former Farm boy. My wife grew up on a dairy farm, so this might just fit the bill for us. Of course we would check out all the areas you mentioned, but what I have seen from your photos, Delta would be perfect. I am a classic car nut. So I think I would like to get involved with the club you folks have ties to. At 69 years old, I want to live in a different place than I grew up in. The crime rate is what is really bothering us now. The Twin City Metro area is pushing in on us. And with it, well you know the story. Again thank you so much for your response. Until then, I will continue to read your greatest blog of all blogs.

One thing I would suggest, is you take a trip here and really see stuff before you sell. Just to be safe than sorry.
