I went about for a few days looking for shadows
They were not hard to find, as long as one, timed the time correctly
They were here and there, giving pleasure just by looking
(Boomer asked me if his shadow really was that fat. I told him the shadow was, that is all 🙂 )
The fullness of Summer is now long past
Time rushing by like the sloughing of a wind
The light is mellow, no longer a brilliant gold
The shadows deeper
Bringing a chill with them in the early morn
Each day the sun rises later and sinks quicker
With a growing coolness to the air
Promising soon, real soon, hang on…it won’t be long now…until frost descends on the land.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
Awwww…. Don’t worry, B. That chubby shadow is just an optical illusion. You are perfect!
Love and licks,
Cupcake

That’s what Mom says. She says at certain times of the day we all have fat shadows. Thanks, Cupcake! Boomer

It makes me sad to know the sun is moving away, what if it doesn’t come back.

I know. I worry also.

What a beautiful ode to the season change.
We have rain here this morning; we never get if this early in N. California. Wonder if this is going to be an early and hard winter.

All the signs are pointing here to an early and hard winter. Sigh.

I thoroughly enjoyed the shadows you found, although I must confess that I do think both Mindy and Boomer look much better than their shadows would suggest.

Autumn came quickly here! But it is too wet and gray for shadows.

Gosh it’s amazing to think we are swapping seasons again .. our weather has been so lovely the past few days! My chooks are laying like mad and I have one that is desperately trying to sit on eggs … would be ok if we had a rooster 😂

I love rooster’s crow, the whistle and the little chicks which come later. I don’t like how the Roosters ride the backs of the hens and tear off all the feathers. Happy Spring!
